LOng Ranger 80 series subtank 160L fuel float question?

If you've done this mod, did you have to modify the factory aux tank fuel float, by extending the float shaft? Or did bolt on and go work just fine? I'm using George's ECM combined with all the other factory goodies. I wanna find out before stuffing it full of fuel, then finding I can only get half of it out.
