Looking for a new to me Tacoma

My advice would be to do a wide area search, and don't be afraid to drive a few hours or even fly up and drive back for the right truck. You can have vehicles inspected by third parties ahead of time.
Buy a carfax or Autocheck membership that's good for 30 days and always run a vin check first. It's a starting point.
My brother lives in Beaumont and he just made me aware of http://www.southeasttexas.com/classifieds/. Apparently, craigslist is not as popular in the area?

These trucks are almost bulletproof with the proper care. I have had my 03 DC since new, and with 104K, it still feels like it's my new truck. No quirky issues to speak of (knock on wood)

Check on TTORA.com. There is a very active group of Toyota enthusiasts from the Houston area. You might get a lead on a nice truck from them.

Wow. That truck would demand 12k + in Nashville! got $15500 for my 04 on trade! hmmm. May be a new business option for me....

Pretty sure that's a 2wd which may explain the low price. No "4WD" on the mud flaps, and it's a little hard to tell but if you look at the first interior pic, it seems to have cup holders where the transfer case shifter should be.
