Magicshine Bike Light

So, I did a search for this and didn't see any previous post. If you haven't seen this yet you should. So far the reviews on all the bike forums is very positive, and you can't beat the price. Also, Geoman is a very good guy who supports one of the local Southern California bike forums, and has great service through his online retail shop.

We were talking about this light at work today. I guess the heat sinking and driver aren't that good and leave something to be desired.

I've read that some people have been adding the silicone heat sink to the old model, but most of the new model owners have mostly good things to say. I haven't tried one yet. I'm going to order one because I figure it is still the most bang for the buck.

Also, I found this photo comparison site of various lights. Very informative as far as brightness and fill.

Geoman has also been giving feedback via the members over at mtbr.com directly to Magicshine, and they have made improvements on the light from that feedback.

But for $85 this light is taking on the big ones that go for many times its price.
I will more than likely pick one up for my helmet and leave the Airbike on the handlebars.
Riding around the neighborhood at night is very impressive with just one on the bars.

Cool sounds good. For aggressive mountain bike riding and racing you'll want a light for the bars and your helmet. At this price it makes it posible without breaking the bank. Might need a little mod here or there to get it on the helmet but it should be easy.

I ordered one with a helmet mount. I'll let you know how it works out for me. I have another light for the helmet, but if I like this one I will probably get another one and do two matching lights.

Mine will be here tomorrow, I placed an order during the weekend.
I will make a comparison video between it and the Airbike P7 light I bought in September, but they use the same bulb, so they should be close.

The new light will go on the helmet, and I will keep the Airbike on the handlebars.

Anyone wanting one should get in line, as Geoman can not keep them in stock, they are almost spoken for as soon as a shipment arrives.

I ordered one last week and got it on Friday. The battery on my niterider digital (old...) was 2x the price of this. Might not be the best light ever, but nothing comes close for the price that I was able to find online.

Blinded myself within 2 seconds of opening. When you plug the battery in it flashes once.

I raced the nigh tportion of a 12 hour DH race with 2 of those.... they are the bees-knees... some of the best lights that were on the course

I forgot the PO was closed yesterday, mine shows up today from the tracking info.
I am going to order a head only soon for $45.

I already have the Y cable coming today, that will let me run to MS lights off of the same battery.

Changed my mind about the Airbike one I already have, it will go on the helmet.
My GoPro HD camera showed up yesterday, I will use that with the chest mount strap instead of putting it on my helmet.

With all the light I have, I will have no problem seeing a trail in the dark.

Geoman also now has the P7 flashlights in.

These are the shots of the light and battery set-up on the bars and on the helmet, as well as my current Petzl set-up for my helmet until I get another MagicShine.

I added the velcro strap to hold the cord with the D-rings.

Another shot of that velcro (from Home Depot)

I ran the cord under the mount, through a vent, and back out the otherside

The Petzl fills in well enough for now, but I am ordering a second MagicShine for the helmet. I had no major shaking or movement on last nights ride.
