Nice story and pretty nice trips you have made so far. I do not have tips on insurance but I will be glad helping you when you come to Chile. Do you have a trip-plan already?

We have a pretty little community of heavy truck based expedition vehicles and share circumnavigation dreams. I am handling myself the overhauling and contruction of my 6x6 NG class Mercedes wohnmobil.

I live near Santiago, the capital city, and have travelled quiet a bit around. If I can be of some help, advices, places not to miss, places not to waste time at, mechanic tips, a cup of coffee or a whole family lunch, whatever, please let me know.

Sorry for the delay, we have been very busy lately, to get us and the truck here in Argentina and to make our first miles in South America !

What sort of changes are you making?

Just fixing some little issues, nothing important.

What was going on with the engine?

Two of the eight exhaust manifold nuts were sheared (probably due to vibration). One of them was particularly difficult to remove. Hence a lot of noise and the engine brake did not work anymore. Everything is fine now.

How about that yellow vehicle in the background?

Waiting for renovation I guess... Seems that it will wait a long time more...
