It would actually be easy to fix the luge bypass. Do you remember how tall the hill was at the top of the bypass? That is what kept the water off of it...that hill is now MIA...it needs to be put back. Something else that may happen, if the bypass becomes the primary route for water, the original luge may become the route of choice again. IIRC, it is not used because it washed out so bad (I have never seen anyone go down the original luge...it was long gone before I moved here)......but if water stops flowing through it...it may come back into use.
Your truck would be fine on the trail Chuck...the only thing that gave us any real problems was the luge bypass being washed out. Once me and Sean went down it (I slid into the wall and broke my mirror, and Sean was in his buggy) the rest of the group filled in the low side with dirt from the high side, and they were fine....but it is loose dirt and will wash out as soon as the water flows again.
