This is my first attempt at building a trailer, thanks to this site for all the ideas.
It's a 7x4 running a triangulated suspension using airbags and rancho shocks. 37 Procomp Muddies on AEV beadlocks.

It's not finished yet, the floor has to go in, aluminium tread plate on the corner guards, twin fuel cans on the rear corners and I am working on a hard lid at the moment.
A spare tyre will be mounted between the nose box and the trailer body and a windcheeter rack will be mounted to the lid.
The trailer will be used for work, plus also camping weekends when i dont need my bigger camper

Trailer looks great MC, interested in the triangulated 4 link suspension. I'm weighing up between three link, four link similar to yours or parallel 4 link with a panhard rod. Planning a small off road caravan with air bags.

Seems like the triangulated 4 link is probably the simplest but reading online there are a million theories around about geometry and pretty much all of it relates to car suspension. Wondering how you went about working out the length of the arms and the geometry.

Thanks!

Hi Jonathan, because a trailer axle has no power going through it geometry doesn't have to be spot on.

I went with 800mm arms so they wouldn't be running on a large angle keeping the wheel in a more up and down motion, not back and forth. All my arms are the same length and once I worked out the upper triangulated mounting points, the lower just went into place.

On the axle the straight arm mount are mounted under the axle and the triangulated mounts above, given them enough separation between the upper and lower mounts.

This was my first build of a trailer so I am no expert, but it does tow really well.

If you want to come and have a look I am in melbourne as well.

cheers MC
