Melvill and Moon Seat Covers

I understand all the functional reasons. I'd just prefer to strip my seats and reupholster them completely in that canvas. I'm sure that could be done easily enough if they had the skins to copy.

That would be nice as well. I'd love to see a set of factory seats recovered by Melvill and Moon. They would be beautiful, no doubt.

Those look like they're worth protecting. Mine, not so much. I wish I could get them clean, but there's so much grunge stuck in the minute cracks in the leather.

There's some stuff called Liquid Leather that can make leather seats with cracks look like new again, and actually strengthen them as well. You can mix it to match any leather. Professional detailers often use this on seats that aren't too far gone to save. I think it's on Amazon if you want to take a look. I was going to do this on my RRC, but may go with some M&M covers now, or do both.

These are also like the ones I pulled to send to M&M.

Thanks

Mine look like these too.

Thanks, David

and on a 130... I like the way they also firm up the seats -at least in a Defender.

Brand new set with your name on them Mark- and no shipping!! Did I mention they come in a nifty canvas bag- and a leather key fob :Wow1:
Better get them or I'll be forced to get another Defender they'll fit...

I just don't like the way the Disco ones fit with the integrated headrest.

I agree, the Disco covers are very loose looking. Since you are into performance track driving you have an understanding of and appreciate the danger of loose fitting seat coverings.

Keep in mind that these things have been used hard for two years, with kids, dogs, etc. They will stretch out a little in that time and get a worn in look. That's life. But, they don't slip around when you use them. The Defender seats are going to fit better than the Disco rear seats, though, because they are a more straight forward design and easier to fit the covers to tightly.

David, my intent is not to criticize your covers. They look great and I am sure you've had great luck with them. My personal observation from every Disco M&M seat cover installation I've seen (from photos only, not in person) is that the covers appear to be loose fitting. For spirited driving loose covers pose a control and safety issue. In back country driving, there is less of that in play. In a perfect world, the M&Ms would fit more tautly so that we could have the ruggedness, mystique, image and charm of the M&M cover with no performance detractors.
