Toasty
Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...
Yeah even the new 3.0 (6B31) has more power than the old 3.8 (6G75), I really liked the 6B31 and would LOVE one in a Montero. Unlike the previous Gen V6's 6G7X found in the Gen 1-4 Monteros, the 6B31 doesn't need to "build power" like the old V6's do. All V6 Montero's i've ever driven from 12v 3.0 to 24v DOHC 3.5 and even the 24V 3.8 liked to get comfortable around 3000RPM to drive and still have a little power on tap in case you run into a hill or need to pass. Same thing in the lighter Montero Sports and the 6G motors, I wonder why the 2nd Gen Sport's (2008-2015) got the 6B31 and the Gen 4 fullsize Montero still has the same old 6G75?

The 6B31 is a proven engine (doesn't have the problems the 6G motors have) and "provides nearly 90 percent of peak torque from just 2,000 rpm" <i fully agree with that and even at 100k miles it still ran like new and when i changed the oil it came out clean every time. It is an awesome engine, not even Mrs.Toasty could kill it and believe me she tried.

Either way I want the Gen 3 Challenger (Montero Sport) with the 6B31 engine.
