Do you have a photo of your truck? I'd like to see what 4-5 exterior looks like. Do you wish you had held out for a more solid truck or are they all rusty in NJ?

It's hard to see in the photo but the paint is fairly trashed. Very dull, lots of scratches and nicks (I'm guessing these came from the evil plows salting the highway at 20mph that I had to get past). That doesn't bother me, however. What does bother me is the driver's side rocker that began with a 1" rust hole that has now spanned to around a 3" gash, all the rust scaling on the frame and rear axle, the surface rust appearing on a lot of the body panels, and the janky stuff the last owner or his mechanic did (using stripped out bolts that hung on the nuts by a thread or RTV'ing broken ones together). I don't think it would be very easy to find a better condition vehicle in my area, so I wish I would have traveled to find the right truck. A lot of the ones you can find up here are pretty much scrap due to rust, extreme high mileage, or having toasted drivetrains. I have found a few very nice ones. One was a very expensive NJ SR, the other was an NJ LS, and the last was an NL base model that I actually was interested in buying but could not get the owner to respond. This truck could probably be restored decently if you had the bodywork skills and could take care of the rust, but I don't have the facilities for that.

That's too bad about the paint, I'd have to say you got the best color available on these. It's always a bit concerning when I find pieced together bits on a vehicle, then I always imagine how many things could be on the brink of failing.

Bought a 2000 Montero Endeavor today for my son to take to college. 180K miles.
Only rust is on the front bumper.
Sunroof works sometimes.
Plastic latch to tailgate broken, have to open from inside.
Tear in drivers seat. Very clean engine compartment.
Everything else works except the 4WD diagram has the front tires blinking. 4x4 works, and the lights stay on when the front axle engaged, but it blinks in 2wd. Has to be a sensor or something...
The 3.5 V-6 is enough to do the job, but you won't win any stop light drags... good for a young boy.
Fuel gage stuck on E.
Prices at $2,000. Guy wouldn't come down much. Bought it for $1,700. Had to, clean solid body and frame. Good platform to fix up.
