Montero Sport -4wd/Hubs won't disengage

Haha case is fine. The vacuum solenoids are not getting the signal to engage 2wd using the actuator. I'll let you know how it goes, the manuals will be here next week.
Can you return the manuals? You can download them for free on mitsubishilinks.com

Just placed my order for the manual hubs, hopefully I should be able to pick them since I found out plh (Paul) lives practically up the road from me here in Milwaukee. Pumped to get them.

In the meantime what kind of switch do we think would work well to manually "switch" ABS modes? AKA trick 4wd computer? What switch would we need to mock, or what signal?

So there's a 2wd mode, 4 hi mode, and 4 low mode? or is there just a 2wd and 4wd mode? I think just a switch on the detection switch on the actuator housing will work if the latter is the case. Where you moving to in colorado?

Well, I should change that, lol. I WAS going to move to Westminster, but my job transfer fell through, so we ended up not moving. :( I even travelled there to secure my transfer. Spent some time in Estes park last summer, but alas, it didn't work. So I'm stuck in Milwaukee for the time being. Going to just finish my degree then possibly move out there next year. Guess I'll just see what happens from here

Same here, tried emailing him also didnt hear anything back. He has an account on here as plh, could pm him. He goes to China four times a year for business and he just gets more of these hubs directly from there, if you read his previous posts.

So with that in mind he may not be stateside right now, which would really suck because I have a small time frame to install these in.

Don't worry, these are supposed to be easy to install. Even easier if your sport has the CAD. We're talking 10min or so.

Yea, I think someone even said to not even bother with removing the wheels? Which makes sense since there is nothing that you're removing that holds any weight of the vehicle. I'll definitely be keeping the original drive flanges though should one of these manual hubs ever bust on the trail.

Although with that said, I want to change all my rotors as the front ones are warped and way too thin, back ones are shot and the pads are getting low. Might as well repack or just replace the front wheel bearings while I'm in there too... Gotta love that preventative maintenance bug.. :victory:

You should have received a tracking number from Paypal / USPS Priority Mail. I am traveling this week (Detroit), but the shipment went out on Saturday.

Thanks

Yeah the wheels do not have to be removed but if you want to change your rotors, have at it!

And there you go! LOL...

Yep, just got an email, it's kind of funny, because the tracking says it basically left Milwaukee, went to Oak Creek (the local airport, roughly 10-15 minutes from me) and is scheduled to come back to Milwaukee tomorrow. Gotta love USPS logistics :smilies27
