Anymore recent finds? I'm in the market for a '98-'99 with the winter package. I've seen a few on autotrader.com/cars.com, but if you know of a local sale in pretty good shape (mechanically/aesthetically), please let me know. Thanks!

Kinda tough to make any such recommendations for you.

Define "local."

"local" to your specific area; granted the seller is comfortable with shipping the vehicle to the east coast (VA).

I've seen more interesting Gen 2.5s on the east coast recently than out west. There have been a few in North Carolina and Georgia over the past several months that looked very nice. Also, I wouldn't eliminate the Y2K models from my search. If you're specifically interested in that rear locker, whole axles can be had for a few hundred dollars.

This Gen II.5 has been for sale forever. But the most recent pics he posted it looks like it miiiight have a rear locker switch. Still can't tell... Did 98's come with lockers? - $2950

This one's kinda pricey for a Gen II, but it seems to be in really good shape. Cloth interior. 5 spd manual (don't see too many of those in FL). Dakar stickers. Second one I've seen in Florida with this color scheme/stickers. Maybe some local dealer put them together, because I can't find anything about a Dakar model Montero on Google. - $4999

Last one, Gen II. Just over 100k. Pretty clean base model. Decent tires, paint looks OK, cloth interior. Add an SR axle and this thing would be pretty nice. - $3700

Florida trucks are nice :) typically minimal rust and easy lives on flat Florida roads.

That first link, the white Gen II.5, doesn't look like it has the rear locker. Yes, it was an option on the '98 and '99 Gen II.5 models (in the USA). I've seen a couple with a little indicator light in the space normally reserved for the switch, and that looks like one of those.
