I really like the
Firehose pants, but they are heavy, and I swore off jeans many years ago.
Been wearing some Columbia cargo pants at work that are a thick cotton, but not a jean material.
I had three pairs of the Columbia ones and they are getting thin.
One pair is toast, and the other two pairs I had the zippers replaced.
The Deluth ones are nice and thick, it will take me awhile to get use to a jean type pant again.
But what I like about these is they are like the Columbia as far as cargo pockets go.
I carry my work cell in one pocket, it just slides right in.
Both cargo sides have a Velcro closure that can fold over all of the other pockets within, or you can Velcro the flap open by tucking it inside and have access to the pockets all the time.
And the rear pockets are pick pocket proof, as they Velcro too.
I do not like the feel of pants that have the wallet exposed.
The Coolmax Firehose ones do, I may have my local tailor add Velcro in there so they will close.
My personal cell phone though I wear around my neck on my work badge lanyard, as the pants are already weighed down with work keys and other stuff.
I am going to order a pair in brown later when they get my size in.
They look pretty much like the Mountain Khakis in color.
