Mounting ARB compressor exposed

I am considering mounting my ARB compressor underneath a skid plate in the front...under the bumper.

It should be fairly sheltered normally, but will definitely be under water when fording such. I actually do this 5+ times a year so its not a moot point.

Thoughts?

Maybe call the folks at ARB and see what advice they have? On the face of it, this sounds like a bad idea...

Got ahold of ARB - they said not to let the air intake become submerged - a remote line could be run for the air intake and it would be OK.

That is surprising. I can't imagine it being good for the wiring and solenoids, but if ARB says okay, go for it!

Also, as a side note; ARB tech help is one of the best customer support lines out there from a manufacturer, ever.

if you are thinking about using it as a standalone compressor and not with arb lockers a portable compressor might be a better solution

I wanted it to be permanently mounted to be honest. I like the lesser worries. ... especially forgetting it.
