I've been taking lots of pics of the rebuilding of a 79 Grandby that I picked up a while ago. I figured it was time to start posting them :)

I took a lot of pictures so I am just skimming through them and posting a few from each stage

New floor pack and overhead using sign grade 3/4" plywood.. Made so it fits in my 8' service bed.

The plan from the beginning was to make it look a little more modern by skinning it with prepainted aluminum.. Rounded cornered window...bright white trim to match the siding.

The previous owner had put the roof down on a hot stove so the window needed to be repaired... I had the repairs done by SLO Sail. They did a great job.. I told them I didn't care if the color was off a bit, just to use what they had on hand. www.slosailandcanvas

I used sikaflex 252 to glue the panels down in the field. Using clekos to hold them in place while the glue set

After letting the glue set over night I pealed back the protective plastic to install the corner trim. I bought some new corner in 8' lengths off of eBay. Along with the black vinyl insert. All other trim I had powder coated to match.

I had all the door trim powder coated too. Also reskinned the door.. Leaving the window out for now. Installed the porch light and floods.

I am rebuilding the lift panels and roof also. I have already purchased new headliner material for the roof and hinges for the lift panels.. ATC has been very helpful with info and selling me some new stuff at a very fare price. I just wish they were a bit closer so I could pick up the roof material from them.

I really was hoping to salvage the roof but I feel like theres just too many patches to do. I want it to look like new.

So this is where I'm at right now.. Waiting for some stuff to show up in the mail to do the lift panels and trying to make a decision on where to buy the roofing. Both are 4 hour drives to places I don't really like :).

Looks great!! Where did you get the prepainted aluminum skin?

I got it through a friends fab shop.. I'm sure you can go to any real fab shop near you and have them order it for you.. I had them sheer it to size so it was easier to transport without scratching it up.
