NICE... we'll have to make a trip up there for sure. Where do you get your lift mechanism from?

The interior has much more headroom now and the effect is awesome. I still have interior work and wiring to do so I don’t have any pictures that do it justice.

I will make you a bet Harald. If you can get everyone that is talking/writing about something, and then not coping the pics from the text, to start to copy the pics into the text, when replying to a thread, then I will give you more than a coffee my friend. As much as you are annoyed that I paste the original pics from the thread, well there are just as many people that are annoyed when the pics are not recopied! :ylsmoke:

I'd understand if your comment actually was about something in one of the pictures. I.e. "What's that bracket on the left for?" is pretty hard to decode if there are 20 different pictures of things with brackets up-thread. But when the thread subject is "My brother's Land Rover Ford Excursion thing" and then a post with 20 pictures of said vehicle, and you then, in the second reply of the thread, quote all 20 pictures and add basically "Hey, cool Land Rover Ford Excursion thing!", not much is gained by seeing the pictures again. We get what vehicle you're talking about, we really do!

If you disagree, that's OK. It's not like it ruined my day or anything. :) BTW, I intended the coffee remark as a peace offering after my critique of your posting habits. I see now that it might read as a snide remark, and for that I apologize.

Mike good to meet you today. The excursion is gonna be sweet. My vote keep it simple.

If it were me i would just do a pop up and a gaucho along one side. That would suit my needs

I like the idea of a pop up and slide out bed also.

Good luck

Thank you Chris. And thank you and the others for taking the time and effort to join us today.
For those of you viewing this exchange I'll share the details.
18seeds and DSW4x4 and their friends met me today to demonstrate their Colorado Camper Van and to offer advice on my Conversion Excursion. I share this with you to point out the caliber and generocity of the community that you have here.

Thanks again and I'm delighted to be here!

Love the build

:bike_rider:Mike, saw your rig yesterday at REI. As I drove past, it caught my eye and I thought that was unique. The rack and the disco top really stands out. I have been looking to do some things for my Ex and I will stay glued to your build. Interested to see how the pop-top comes out. Awesome. Have you measured the height of the conversion so far?

Thank you Jeff, what a small world! That's where 18seeds and dsw4x4 met. I wish you'd has dropped in on our visit.
I'm glad you like it and I'll be happy to offer any info you need.
So far, the Excursion is stock height so the heighth with the rack is 97" and 88" on top of the Rover roof without the rack.

You'll get nosebleeds putting stuff on the rack. At least you know how tall it is for going through drivethroughs and stuff. How functional will the rack be? You have a good ladder system or elevator:) for it?
