Yeah, it was more in the way than I thought. I have an idea in my head for mounting d-rings to the frame and sticking them out through the bumper, or I'll just be getting some jate rings.

Yes, I found out the hard way that I need to do something different about recovery points on the front of my disco. But I'm learning and she's going in the shop this weekend to straighten out those mounts and work on some beefy recovery points. Then it's off to the trails again on Sunday.

Ouch on the bent bracket, but that probably wasn't causing your death wobble. It was most likely mud.

On our drive back from Moab in my P38 (800 miles) I couldn't go over 70 b/c I would get a huge shimmy in the steering wheel. The truck had a bit of mud, but nothing like your pics. Well, after getting home and washing her, she was ten times better. There was a bunch of caked on mud inside the wheels that was hard to see. Then a quick wheel balancing got everything back in order and she drives beautifully once again.

Glad to see you aren't wasting any time to get her dirty!

I sped up to 70mph the other day and it seemed fine so I think there wasn't any lasting issues causing the wobble. The body mount should be back to normal Saturday.

Thanks for the compliment! Like I've said, I'm new to this and it's an absolute blast. We're hitting the trails again on Sunday and I can't wait! It definitely helps when my brother/best friend got into Rovers as well; we're tearing up every hill in the area together. We yanked his sway bars yesterday and gave him some killer flex. Should be interesting this weekend.

We made it out to Putnam again on Saturday. You wouldn't believe how wet and muddy it was! It made trying to stay on line nearly impossible! But we all had fun and didn't have any breakages or major recovery issues. I almost tackled a pretty steep climb, but couldn't quite get over the last rock step.

Also, while I was going around a curved, canted section of mud I was trying to keep my wheels on the right side of a small ridge, separating me from some pretty deep water. Well it didn't happen since it was so muddy. My front end went straight down, but she made it through without any problem, other than a dirty headlight!

Here's me and my fiance in front of the muddy disco. Great trip!

So I won't look like I'm "trying too hard"? That is a good point, though. I guess that since it'll be function over form its kind of pertinent....

Thanks for the advice!
