My new rig.

Well I've been posting and asking questions around here for a month or so, but only actually picked up my new (to me) 2003 DC Taco last week, so here it is:

new 265/75 BFG AT/KOs, everything else stock. 69,000 miles, very clean. No TRD, but I probably don't need it and I'm better off not paying for it right now. I need to have a custom rack made to hold my Maggiolina RTT, and wire up an aux fuse box for Aux rear lights & tent plug. Work out the storage plus mounts for high lift, axe and shovel and I'm all set. Should be no problem getting good ideas with the help of this forum!

Even though I am an avid jeep lover, I must admit.. it's taco's like those that remind me of my secret love affair with them. :D Can't wait to see the build progress!

When I switched from my fj60 to the open bed Taco I lost my lockable back storage area, obviously. Small side bed boxes online were coming up at $200 plus! Yikes. So I went cheap and picked up a med ammo can, added a locking front and bolted it to my bed:

Nice double-cab, Dave!

So... Spill the beans... Where'd you find it?!

:victory:

Thanks. It was on the SF Craig's List, guy down in San Jose had it. Good price, I happened to be the first guy to get in touch and see the truck. He said he had a bunch of people from all over the state calling him after I bought it. He sounded a little bummed that he hadn't listed it a bit higher.

Oh, and my wife in the pic above... she's not cranky, that's just her "lets go already" face! ;)

Blue Sea 6 circuit w/ neg buss fuse block installed. I ran the wires through the rubber grommet on the firewall just below the master cylinder. Then down to the trim pieces along the doors and up to the area behind the rear seats. 10awg wire with a 30amp fuse. Light, but more than enough for the minor applications I'll use this for (a couple of LED lights and maybe a cheap air compressor) If I add much more than that I'll change the wire up to something beefier. Switches come next week for the power circuit to my RTT plug and my rear Aux LED camp light. Both of which will be mounted on my new Thule bed racks, coming Thursday! yay!

Mounted my LED camp/bed light from Adventure Trailers. Light is bright, great for area camp light or looking tough truck bed at night. Switched at light and from cab. Swivels around easily. Now I just need to put on some security nuts.
