Congrats on the WJ! They are definitely nice vehicles and pretty capable. Im looking forward to seeing your build!

Thanks.

There will defintely be a build thread, but it won't start until next spring/summer. I need to baseline this thing first. I'm scheduling a trans flush/purge in a week + the first of many alignment jobs (Firestone lifetime :) )

Also, lots more research to do before I touch the nuts & bolts of this thing. I just learned that I can swap in an NP231HD :victory:

I am taking it to Moab in a week though :smiley_drive:

Congrats on the purchase! That's a sweet ride, I've always had a soft spot for the Columbia and Freedom edition WJ's with the 4.7 HO. We had a '01 LTD with the std 4.7L in it, which had plenty of power with a few mods, but the HO is really quick compared to the standard 4.7L.

You may know this already but check out Kolak for WJ parts and accessories. He knows WJ's inside and out can get great deals on anything from JKS suspension parts to custom exhaust for the WJ's

Ahh, the elusive Kolak....hmmm...I say elusive because he has no web presence (that I'm aware of), which prevents me from   over anything he has to offer. Besides, I feel like I'll get the service & quality I want from KOR and therefore don't really need to spend my time contacting kolak for parts or service. Kolak would have to offer things at a huge discount compared to KOR (or other online vendors) in order for me to contact him for anything.

That may seem harsh, but it's the truth. Having a strong web presence is everything these days unless you're a business that's local to me and I can   over things in person  (even then I still prefer to check you out online first).

Nice jeep, although i have to say, it did sort of disappear when i noticed those supras behind it. Nonetheless, i think you will enjoy your wj. I had an 02 overland with kor spacers, rubicon express shocks, ome stabilizer, jks track bar, 15" wheel conversion with 31's.

You should really check out the 2" BB

With everything else on your list, you will find that the Teraflex 2" does really well off road. I have the 2" and the JKS discos. Love how this thing wheels. If I had lockers I would have liked it a lot, but still, it does great. Mind I have the QTII so if you have the QDII then you are pretty good, and you would not need lockers either...

I dono, most of the trails near you can be done on a 2" bb. I even have done Spring Creek on a 2".

Have fun in Moab!

Thanks for the info, but when I lift my WJ I want to get the appropriate spring rate for the lift height. If I just do a BB I won't be happy with it. That's just the way I am.

I will definitely enjoy Moab! :wings:

That's what I did...I had the BB for a little while and it just didn't do it for me, so I went with a 4" lift, which works just fine.

Nick (Kolak) and Kevin (KOR) are friends and Kevin sells some of Nick's stuff. They are both awesome vendors and you won't go wrong with either of them.

hey man congrats on the nice find!

fwiw, i think what ever lift you decide on you should think of picking up the kevins dual SS's and also opt for the two OME's. i had to tweak them abit, but the helped alot!!
enjoy it!

Thanks, I planned on getting it as part of the "death wobble kit". Especially since mine has a slight shimmy even in stock form :(

welcome to the WJ owning family! :victory:
