that thing is looking more like a lunar lander. Fantastic Job Rockman. Truly a work of art.

Got away at Christmas time for a couple of weeks camping .
Have to look at doing a few things to the camper ... need more ball weight on it and I am going to change the axle for one that is approx 3" longer , each side.

The canvas guy let me down .. I might look at buying him a tape measure ... for future reference .:violent-smiley-031:

Hey Rockman

Which oztent is it? Its the " Oz Tent 3 "

Does the tent with the trailer system work. Please tell me it does :)
Works a treat , my 11 year old put it up the first time in about a min ... the only thing would be the midge mesh , great to keep them out but it does restrict the airflow a little bit , probably to real problem where you are .

Cheers

Anyone with some building knowledge ... I'm looking at increasing the track-width by approx 3-4 inches , each side .
Will this make a small difference or a huge difference .
It means that we will have to build some form of mudguard along the main chassis rail , don't have a problem with the structural side of things , more just the cosmetic side of things . I don't want it to look like an add-on or a mistake .

Any idea's would be great .

Cheers Jim

Jim, I would come out what ever the need is to cover the tire, and run a sheet of aluminum from in front of the fender nub to the back, just cutting out the high part, with a angled rail along the edge, so you could use it to carry stuff on. It should look planned it would seem. Take a look at my build and imagine the expanded metal being solid. I think tha would work.

I agree you need to go wider on the axle if you are having problems with off camber stuff. The wider the base the better for that stuff for sure. We all have made our first trailer and learned from them, you sir have built your first trailer and we are all learning from you. Such a great design, quality, craftmanship. You might want to finish this puppy up and make as stable as you can and sell it. You know what to do different now. Fantastic build though. Hopefully what we have suggested will cure the problem.

Thanks for that Bob

We now have the swaying in the rear of the trailer sorted out perfectly .
Tomorrow we are redoing the rear springs as they seem to have lost tension to the tune of 42mm difference (1 3/4"). Not happy as they where reset just before Christmas .
I will be getting some 2" wheel spacers next week and see how that goes with them in .That will take the tyre track out to 1900mm , same as the 80 series cruiser .

Cheers Jim .

Again ... many thanks Bob for your time and sharing your knowledge .
