Hello everyone. Been lurking around for a bit and thought I should join. I currently live in Portland, OR but I am heading out to Texas in a few days. Rather then rent a trailer to move some of my stuff, I just bought myself a M105A3 (M101's are no where to be found here for a decent price). Since my rig can tow 6200lbs and uses the same transmission as the Tahoe, Its all good.

So I purchased the trailer about 3 weeks ago.

After lightening the trailer up by removing some of the heavy overkill parts that I will have no need for, axle swap for a Dexter 5000lb w/brakes, and putting on some matching wheels with 35" tires, 8000lb jack, and leveling it to the tow rig.... it was off to get blasted.

Once it was blasted, I chose to finish the whole trailer in black line-x for now. Once I get settled in at my new place, I will be finishing it off. Right now it's set up for me to haul my crap LOL. But I will be making a RTT style trailer. I also added a tongue box to carry stuff for the trailer in.

Just weighed it, 2750lbs stock... As mine sits, 1950lbs. So I shaved 800lbs off :wings:

I like it! They are big but can be put on a diet.
Did you weigh it after?
Nice transformation.

I went to a DOT scale and drove up, disconnected tow rig and moved it off the scale. I know a large part of the weight shave had to do with the removal of the factory brake system, 10k# axle, and massive wheels and tires. Also removed the overloads and the big *** landing gear LOL
