Here is sort of what I was talking about. The later model ones had headrests and cloth interior.

I bet Marv could get them for you, or one of the Canadian importers? Which brings me to another idea. What about 70 series seats?

I wouldn't face them backwards unless you had to. You can't see what the kids are doing back there. Lots of bad things can happen.

Our '04 Sequoia has a third row split seat that fits between the wheelwells and has seatbelts for three. I don't know what the overall width is, but could measure it up if you like.

There was a guy on Mud that I was working with to get factory spare mount parts and barn doors from S.A. I'll see if I still have his contact info.

I thought there were 2 bucket seat designs for the FJ40 seats.

1. 73-78
2. 79+

79 may be right. IIRC the recline mechanism on the 79+ are a bit more updated, with plastic covers and plastic covered recline lever.

Slight differences in the seatbelts and uphostery too...I can't remember when Toyota went with a 3 pt. harness.
