I don't plan on sleeping in it, I have a rtt and 2 trailers as far as camping is concerned. I would like to eventualy make storage platforms like alot of guys on here have done.
I'll probably hold off on this one unless he says okay to like 2 grand.
I have also checked my local craigslists and have sent out a few emails.
I never knew there were so many 2 wheel drive 4runners though, especialy here in New England.

On 99-00 models the gas gauge can read inaccurately. Jumps around or shows you have fuel when you're almost out. This doesn't happen on all of them, but it's not an uncommon complaint.

Mine is the opposite: Shows an empty tank when there is still ~3 gallons or so (this is in an 18.5 gallon tank.) On the most recent tank my low fuel light came on at 218 miles from the previous fill up (on my Tacoma, which had the same engine, same size fuel tank and a manual transmission, my low fuel light normally came on at about 265 - 300 miles.) I filled it up at about 245 miles and it took 16.5 gallons so even with the low fuel light on for 30 miles and the needle below the "e", I still had 2 gallons left.

I would also be very skeptical of those MPG numbers. I have a '99 with the same engine and tranny but no lift and slightly larger than stock tires (265/75/16) and I can get 17-20 on the highway, possibly even as high as 22 though that's rare. City mileage is much, much lower.

I filled tank last night and for a couple of weeks of city-only driving (which included a couple of days of short trips in 4wd since we had about 18" of snow on the ground) my MPG came in at a whopping 14.5!

I seriously doubt anyone can get 20mpg with that kind of lift and those big tires.

Mine does the same thing. I thought I had a 16.xx gallon tank for awhile when I first got it as I could never fill up more than around 15.xx gallons. Do I want to test that that the mysterious 3 gallons are still present? Probably not..

The 6 cylinder has a locker... thats the button! DOn't let them know what it is.. or they will try to get you for more $$$. Looks clean.... pull the trigger!

I love that they listed "inside hood release" as an option . . . yeah, I'm guessing they don't really know what they have

Here's a couple...

4 cylinder, looks clean

6 cylinder, clean, a little high but he might deal down a $1k or 2. Might have a rear locker (looks like the switch on the dash)

I'm going to give them a call on the NH 4runner with the locker in the AM. Interior looks beat. I find if the interior is beat in most cases so is the car...but it's sort of close. I like the white one in albany as well.

The tranny cooler is integrated in the radiator. It will need a new radiator. I did it my myself, I also dropped the tranny pan to do a complete flush and found no antifreeze in the tranny fluid but I noticed it was leaking tranny fluild only two blocks from my house, before it started slipping. I think the positive pressure pushed the tranny fluild into the coolant. So I installed a new radiator, hoses, thermostat and a complete flush of the coolant and tranny. I had 131k on the clock went might went. No problems for the next 10k.

looks like I'm out of luck on that one.....back pounding pavement. Done a 300 mile search from the boston area on craigslist, autotrader and ebay with no luck. Looking for a 2000-2002 black or grey 4x4 4runner auto with a 6cyl. Seem hard to find.
