They are not that much higher than standard or aftermarket. I will check to see what retail is. Havent driven but once around the block since done. Have an idler arm to go on one day this week. Went with aftermarket on that, considerably less than Factory. I try to use Toyota parts on all my stuff if its not just way out of line. And.....Im the service manager at the dealer, we can buy for 10% over cost which is great especially when everything I own is a Toyota, 97 4runner, 04 4runner, 92 4x4, 93 4x4.

Thanks, I've already priced checked the Toyota shocks. I don't really need off-road shocks but want to step up from standard since I have a canopy and carry a load from time to time. Did you get the Autozone FA5040 Idler and bronze bushings? http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/IdlerArm.shtml

Came from Orielleys. Havent open the box yet. Going to install one evening this week. Double ck the ball joints, replace as needed and align. Have a set of BFG AT 31s set aside after that. Then a little rattle can on the hood. Local paint shop is able to mix by color code and put in an aeresol can. Then it will be ready to start learning to drive in. Im gonna use local geocaches for destinations for drive time.

Just a question, using a gas shock will result to a stiffer rider compared to a fluid type shock right?

I doubt you can tell much differnce at all. Specially on a rig like this

Agreed. Gas shocks should hold up a little better to harder use, heavier loads and larger tires.

Time for a little maintenance and a new idler arm. Wheels looke they are gonna clean up nice.

Had the white letters in when first mounted. Cldnt stand it. They are out on all my other trucks. Had to redo. Mechanical is pretty much done. Clean up. Polish the wheels. Rattle can the hood and roof. Son will be helpin with that. Local paint shop mixed the paint by code and somehow they can put it in an aerosol can.

Yep 31s. Thanks. If it does as well as the 92 the oldest boy has it will be great. Been drivin it for 6 yrs now. Had a few fender benders but it just keeps goin. Totalled once. Took the money and put it back together. You just cant beat em. If this one was white its be more perfect. Both 4 runners and the other truck white. Oh well cant have everything
