New cab chassis for camper

Built a flatbed on my Ram 5500 diesel and decided to change to a gas truck to gain reliability. Found the flatbed is really nice for truck being a camper and a truck, but not so great for height. Building a 3" tall quick mount "swiss knife" type of sub frame that will allow camper to ride 3" lower, and flatbed to ride 3" higher.
First thing to do was to single out the truck. Installed a set of Rickson wheels (Toyo 285/70 19.5 dia.) that fit just right. Next thing is to get the sub frame into fabrication.

Had a set of mounts made. The lower sections bolt on to the frame and will mate with flatbed through the use of spring isolators. Have also installed a receiver hitch. This integrates with the rear flatbed/body mount.

Are those legs electric actuators ?

Are they strong enough to lift the camperunit.....

Yes they are electric jacks. They are Rieco units. They easily lift the entire camper. I have the set up that has a controller with remote that enables all the jacks to lift simultaneously. I have the jacks mounted to 3/8" plates that secure to a stout aluminum angle that secures right into camper frame. No lag bolts, no screws. Used 1/2" fine threaded bolts to secure to body.
Once camper is mounted to truck, I simply remove the jacks. Each has a simple electric plug in.
My camper weighs in at 4,000 pounds plus.

Looks good! The new truck should treat you very well.
At first I wasnt terribly excited about the new styling, but it has certainly grown on me.
They are incredible trucks that look and perform great (y)

BTW, the Rieco Titan jacks are pretty slick.
Ive been running them on my custom camper for a couple of years now.
Not cheap, but worth every penny. Remote control, and rated at 2500# per jack, so PLENTY strong.

Since pushing to them, Ive started unloading the camper if we are camped for more than a few days.

I see your jacks are mounted to plates much lower than mine. Did you add the lower mount plate on jacks? I like this and would provide a more stable lift.

I added the lower plates. (y)

Less for stability, and more for dropping the camper nearly to the ground when unloaded, while still having enough height to load/unload.

Mounted the flat bed direct to the new isolation mounts. Then set the camper on the flatbed.
