Are you putting an E rated tire on a 87 4Runner? That isn't going to be the best riding vehicle you've ever been in... That's a pretty stiff tire for such a lightweight rig.

2005 Tacoma Access Cab V6. It will see lots of highway and backroads, but will be put through its paces off road. Rocks and light mud mostly. :coffee:

4Runner doesnt like the street, it stays with Swampers. :victory:

These tires have the snowflake symbol. I don't doubt they will work good in the snow.

I have no experience with this tire, other than looking at it today as I waited for my Yokohamas to be mounted.

Any more experience with this tire? Are the side walls a legitimate concern? I am trying to decide between these tires, new MTR, and Maxxis Bighorn.

Coworker bought them, took his tacoma on a logging road and some mild crawling and the sidewall folded and popped the bead.

He took them back and got the kevlar MTR's which I told him to get in the first place.

When you see the Duratrac's in person, just take your fingers and squeeze the sidewalls. You'll see what I mean. Butter soft and very thin.

Update on the Duratracs.

I was wrong  about the sidewalls being paper thin since I only compared them in the store and not actually mounted.

Friend of mine bought a set and we compared on the road/trails.

MTR Kevlar's are definitely more robust and are much better suited as a rock tire.

The Duratrac's are quiet on the road and have impressed him and me with it's ability to clear mud and grip on rocks.

The C load range appears to be a good one for a 31" tire.
