New guy, new to me truck!

Hey Guys my name is Dan and I live in the Idaho panhandle, hence idaho_dan! I have been lurking for as couple years. I have been backcountry camping for a while and decided to move to vehicle base exploring.

So here I was looking for a good rig, almost bought a 1999 landcruiser, but didn't want payments on a truck that would be an expo rig and a daily driver. Enter my new rig. A 1991 dodge ramcharger 150. It's got a 360 v8 and a tourqueflite 4speed with o/d. Dana 44 up front and a 9 1/4 rear. Not that bad on the rust, probably because it was in central Washington, pretty dry.

Right now I'm just getting it right as far as reliability, new fluids all around, replacing compromised parts and tuning up the suspension (softer springs).

I love Ramchargers. They are easy to bolt a diesel into if you ever want to get more than 10-12 mpg. "Just add Cummins". The one pictured below is one of my all time favorites!

Nice rig Dan :bike_rider: I love that era of Dodges I had a 92 W250 for awhile-great truck. That's a beautiful part of the country you live in be sure to share some pics of your adventures.

Thanks for the compliments! Yeah just a little fine tuning with the truck and it should be ready to go! I also have some bumper plans in the works and would like to fit a roof rack with an ez awning. I plan to mostly leave the suspension stock as far as height, but new springs are in order. Going to go through all my diff gears and see how they are holding up too.

I still kick myself for not buying that when I had the chance

Killer rig man. I loved when the big three had these real SUVs. These were what real 4x4s look like. Good idea to keep the suspension stock. Gods luck with it.

Don't spend too much on it.

I too like the old Dodges. My suggestion is to just get it to where you are comfortable with the dependability and then get out and use it. You will figure out what you really need only by using it.
Good Luck and Enjoy
