Welcome from JF to ExPo, your bigger time wasting web site.

I've tried to build mine sort of like your Rig for a while, its a great looking one and super well built.

Thanks guys.

For the first time ever, I got so mad at it the other day, that I wanted to sell it. (Even though I NEVER would)

Ever since I went to 4.56, I've had a bad vibe from the front driveshaft. It is a BAD harmonic vibration that goes away when the shaft is removed. The rear is fine, and I can cruise up to 70 no prob. I just rebuilt another front shaft hoping to fix it, I put it in, and realized that the slip yoke is toast. I didn't notice until it was bolted up.

I took it on the freeway, and the vibes were as bad as ever. i also checked the pinion angle, adjusted it, and it did not help. Both the pinion and t case yoke are tight.

I got fed up, and called Tom Woods, and I have a brand new, custom, built to my 31.75 inch spec shaft coming to me this week. It doesn't have the smooth slip yoke like stock, it has a heavy duty full length spline setup, with a rubber boot. This is much stonger than the stock crap. They said this design is best for climates like mine. (Wet)

This has pushed the tires back a couple weeks, but I should have them after new years.

Great looking rig! I need long arms! I have the same suspension you do, and wheels, and tires...mine would never twist like that.

Whats next!?

Thanks!

I also have longer brakelines, thats very important for flex.

Next is the front driveline, and then some maxxis bighorns, 255/85/r16 on my moabs.

In the next 6 months or so, I need to put an ARB in the 8.25, and get new ring and pinion gears.

I had an aussie in it before, then I bought this 8.25 axle which was already geared to 4.56. Whoever set it up did a bad job, the gears are VERY noisy.

So it's going to get an arb, and new 4.56's.

Yeah, it was noisy. But I got the front locker for free, so since I had at least one locker, I removed the rear one and sold it to fund other projects. (Like the front shaft.)

Im a college student, and I used to work at kragen on weekends, but I just quit to focus on school.

So, your running long arms with the 3.5 inch lift? I've never thought to do that. I see it really helps when your flexing out. I may do that to my XJ whenever I get my lift put together. Im going wiht the Rusty's 3inch kit. BUt your XJ is awesome! I love the TJ Moab rims. :D

Thanks man. It was a no brainer for me. The RE 3.5 springs sit at almost 4.25, so the ride was rough. It is far better with the flat control arm angle.

Went wheeling.

I was crossing this v-gulley, and the right wheels slipped out, and it landed on it's side.

The rock rails TOTALLY saved the side.

Some random guy spotted me out of the hole, I was on 3 wheels, with the front left about 3 feet off the ground.
