Relief valve stuck? Have you tried the atf in the oil, then an oil change?

First pull the sending unit off and inspect it. They get gummed up and read wrong. You may just need another pressure sensor. Sometimes you can just clean the old one.

Can you elaborate and let us know where this sensor is located, what it looks like, how to get it off, etc.? I can't find it and everyone seems to have this problem so it would be good to get the sensor fix documented.

it's connected to your oil filter adapter - brown round thing on the right

If you didn't notice any changes in the way the truck sounded, drove, felt, (smelt?) I would put my .02 on the OPSU. Had the same thing happen to me with my Cherokee. Gauge spiked, but the Jeep didn't act abnormal. Replaced the sender and all was well. Very easy fix for even the white belts like me.
