oil residue from AC air vent

When you see this white mist, do you get a hint of antifreeze smell? (It will be sort of a sweet smell if the heater core is dripping coolant, and the A/C is picking up the mist).
Another thread reminded me of the A/C condensate drain getting blocked. Summer, high humidity, running A/C, and the drain blocked with trash, might cause enough moisture in the A/C box to create a mist as well. The "oily residue" could be old dirt/residue, etc. now floated up to the evaporator coils from the condensate drain water building up. Of course if it were bad enough, I'd expect it to leak into the passenger foot-well, or you might hear the fan hitting the water.
Last, and a general statement, in years past, mist in the A/C without the antifreeze smell was often an indicator of the A/C charge getting low, freezing up, thawing to mist, (rinse, lather repeat). But if that were the case, you'd notice the A/C struggling to maintain temperature.
