Just curious if anybody has these yet or has heard anything about them......

Help me compare/contrast them with other stuff on the market.....

From the research I have done, the OME NitroCharger shocks are actually manufactured by Monroe. Last year when I was debating on what shocks to get I stumbled upon that tidbit of information. If I find that link I'll share it. Here is one link .

That was pretty confusing and not really helpful. I'd be interested to hear if you have any more definitive info, but all I gathered from that was that some OME shocks might be manufactured or at least packaged in the same facility as some Monroes and Pedders shocks. At least that might be the case in Aussi-land.

I run OME Nitrocharger Sport shocks/struts on my 120 series Prado and I am happy certainly happy with them. Although I can't compare them directly against any other brand of aftermarket shock they are definately an improvement on the standard Toyota suspension.

They handled thousands of kilometres of corrugations on an outback trip I did last year effortlessly, with no fading evident and although they give me quite a stable and firm ride on road they soften up and become nicely compliant for off-road work.

I recommend them, but as I said can't give a direct comparison to anything else, I suspect that they're just as good as any top quality shock available, and better than the standard OME shocks.

Yes Monroe make OME shocks but they only make pedders shocks for normal passenger cars, the new OME sports shocks are getting good reports in the marketplace in OZ.

I run them on my '99 4runner with OME coils as well. A super upgrade to the aging Bilsteins that I previously had. They just spent many miles this weekend on horribly corrugated roads at a good clip (60 mph), "surprise" washouts and steep rutted descents. I tested the suspension pretty good and I sensed absolutely no fading.:smiley_drive:
And they also have very nice highway manners.

Love having fun 😊 in the 🌞 by the ⛵ and the ⏳
I had the previous OME shocks and suspension on my 73 series and now the new Sport Nitro ones and OME suspension on my 77. Gotta say I love the ride. Will let you next summer how they do on corrugated roads as I maybe off to Baja again for a tough run of trails.:costumed-smiley-007

Help me understand what is wrong with Monroes or the OME shock being produced by Monroe?

I think that it worth distinguishing between something made in the same factory and actually being the same product.
The OME's may be made in the same factory as Monroes shock, and no doubt numerous other shocks, but it doesn't mean that they are the same shock. They're all made to different standards/specifications and with different parts, with the nitrochargers being made to the standard and quality set down by OME.

Exactly, Monroe has mad OME Nitrochargers for years, to the specs and build quality set forth by OME engineers. They differ in many ways from the other Monroe products both house brand and other sub-contracted shocks.

I've been running the new Nitrocharger Sport shocks on my Tacoma since they landed in the US, I'm happy with them. With heavy loads and long high speed runs the earlier shocks would start to fade, I've yet to experience that with the Nitrocharger Sports. There are some applications where customers are preferring the original Nitrochargers over the Sport, so for that reason I would consult with a specialist in your particular vehicle to make sure your getting something that will suit your needs.

Us LR guys generally run either OMEs or Bilstein 7100s. Lots of satisfied users running OMEs. Much better than Big Blues or Ranchos, etc.
