What was going on with mine, was the buttons were acting weird, I would hit 2wd from auto and it would jump to 4low. etc...finally, the front axle just stopped engaging. Now, the shifts are fast quick and no flashing of any of the lights on the selector. I never got service 4wd notice, or not codes. Just stopped working...at the most in opportune time...the biggest blizzard in 13 years...I got BURIED! Anyways...it's all working good...No misfire etc anymore, and 4wd is working as it should. Next up is the seafoam through the fuel rail, and intake cleaning. I was going to use seafoam spray for that but it has been recorded that seafoam screws with the MAF sensor. So I will clean that using cleaner.
as for replacing the actuator, Just watch which one you get...the one I got was an aftermarket one. it was missing two sets of starting threads....we had to force it in to get started. once started it was good to go.
