Opinions on Block Heater replacement.. 400watt vs 1000 watt

I would look into an inline electric fuel heater. If you have good batteries cranking in the cold isn't that big a deal. Having warm flowing fuel that easily atomizes is more important IMHO.

Dunno...But I would insulate and heat the lines, filter/separator and rig it to a manual switch as an electrical off grid pre-heat source before I would try to heat the entire block and coolant with off grid electrical energy.

There is a wire loop around the top of the fuel filter head.. (between the filter and the mount) that was designed to heat the fuel.. (in theory)
