I had a very similar experience with a red top back in the 90's.
Put one in my 87' 4Runner and it was still in there when I sold it ~13 years later...still works for all I know!

Looking at both my Yellow and Red top's, i see both made in CO but i'll be damned if i can find a burned in 4 digit date code. Lil help? I'm cutious on their age.

Red top purchased in 2008 still runs my Jeep and 8274 Warn winch. Get a smart charger. Don't use anything else on them!
