Nice. What thickness metal did you use for the shelf? I'm new to fabricating things and don't want to go too weak or too heavy off the bat.

Havent updated this in awhile so i figure its time.

New hardtop and low profile mounts for my new tent.

Killer rig, looks like you're having a blast with it. How much weight do you figure you've added to it at this point? Any idea what your mileage is at now? I know they're not really factors for a crawler, but for something you plan on putting miles on; it's still relevant. I may have missed it, but are you locked?

Im getting about 16mpg city highway combined. It will get 19 if i can keep it under 60. it drops to 16 if im running interstate speed. nothing you can do about the fact its a cinderblock on wheels. its a rubicon so yeah its locked front and rear.
as far as weight. I need to go put it on a scale. I could compare that to factory specs but im sure its a chunk.

Is that a shockworks rear bumper?

Yes. very nice kit. I love it.

That mileage is actually pretty fantastic considering all the armour and the 120lbs of 37" tire.

I hadn't realized the Rubis were fully locked front and rear. This is cool to know.

Yeah, just guessing but I wouldn't be surprised if you've added close to 1000lbs over stock.

The right gearing and a manual trans makes the difference. The autos lug the engine like crazy. If you run the new 3.6 at 2200 ish rpms at cruise and shift at 3200k while accelerating it brings the numbers up noticeably. This motor if you cruise at 1500 rpms. I'd get 13mpg.
