Overland Vehicle Notes

So I have test drove all of the vehicles on my list and I am pretty sure I know what to do now. The Rovers are amazing vehicles, particularly the supercharged full-fat Range Rover. The only thing nicer than it is hand-made in Italy. The LR4 is super-utilitarian and the third row of seats is pretty BA.

However, I think it will have to be a G. Plus the wife said that if I get one now, that when it comes time for her to get a new vehicle, she will just drive the G and I can pick something else. So I am thinking SC RR as a second choice.

Thanks for everyone's input, it has been enlightening.

The curb weight difference between the 200 and the 100 series is a whopping 200 pounds for the petrol version. The 200 has the same wheelbase, and is longer by 2 inches, taller by 1.2 inches and longer by 2 inches. If you go to LCOOL and go to the 200 boards you will notice a couple things. 75% have had a 100 series in the past and 100% would never go back to a 100 series.

The 4Runner is a great truck... so it really depends on your duty cycle requirements. = D

100 Series
Wheelbase 2,850 mm (112.2 in)
Length 4,890 mm (192.5 in)
Width 1,941 mm (76.4 in)
Height 1,849 mm (72.8 in)
Curb weight 2,320 kg (5,115 lb)

200 Series
Wheelbase 2,850 mm (112.2 in)
Length 4,950 mm (194.9 in)
Width 1,970 mm (77.6 in)
Height 1,880 mm (74.0 in)
Curb weight 2,405–2,665 kg (5,302–5,875 lb)

Seems you counted out the 80 series pretty quickly due to not having a V8....I'd venture to say that motor will get you through far more then any Jeep or most any thing you listed. That and you could essentially pour sand in it and it'd still run. But then again you couldn't pay me to drive a jeep.

I can understand why you wouldn't want a 100 series, but noting the interior seems a bit light in the loafers of a reason. It's as plush and comfortable as any SUV i've ever been in. The early models had lockers in them too or that alltrec bs..Helluva deal. Not sure what you mean by recondition. They are a chain driven v8 until the later years, pretty low maintenance.

With all your interior wants why hasn't the GX470 made your list ? Essentially a 4runner with all the awesome nice stuff to break that you want.
