Day 11 (10 full days)

10 full days, still a layer of ice on top of the water with a couple large chunks. See below...

Day 12 (11 full days)

Ok, it's just about done. Just a few small chunks of ice floating around, so I would say this is the end. Probably only last a few more hours. Pic below

So to recap, the 26 QT Ozark Trail High Performance Cooler lasted 7.5 days, the Coleman Steel Belted 54 QT lasted 8.5 days, and the Ozark Trail High Performance 52 QT Cooler lasted just over 11 full days.

Initially, when I saw these two "high performance" coolers at Walmart, I bought them with the intention of testing them and if they worked out ok, I would keep them, otherwise I would just return them. When you consider the durable build, bear resistant rating, and significant price savings over ALL of the competition, I felt like I had nothing to lose. I am really impressed and happy with this purchase. I would definitely recommend these for anyone.

Found the 26qt locally, no sign of the bigger ones. Felt decent, heavy and reasonably well built, but I don't need one that small. Hoping to find the bigger ones soon.

From what I've found, this cooler was just released. Have you found any testing of this particular cooler? I'd be interested in seeing a comparison, I'm not going to jump to conclusions on it until there is actual data.

if it is the one pictured below I have it and no way in hell it keeps much ice or any at all for 5 days at any outside temp at 92 deg like it states in the walmart add. It can keep ice for 5 days if the temp does not go much above 32 deg Fahrenheit. It does fine for a few days in the shade. It does do better than other cheap coolers I have had.

A question for those of you fortunate enough to find an Ozark Trails 26-Qt. High Performance Cooler on the shelf at Walmart:

What are the overall outside dimensions of the 26-quart cooler (L x W x H) with the handle folded down?

I have space constraints in my rig and this unit might be what I need if the size is right.

Thanks.

Robert, The dimensions of the 26 QT are as follows: 22" (W) x 16" (H) x 14" (Depth, front to back) This is includes the hand down and flared out on the sides and back. Hope that helps.

No problem

No problem on the test guys. I actually purchased a Igloo Sportsman 20 QT at Sams Club last week as well and plan on doing a test between it and the 26QT OZ Trail in the coming weeks. We are getting a bunch of snow this weekend, but it should warm up and stay pretty warm starting next week. I will post the test here.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the dimensions - I think the 26-Qt. Ozark Trail will work for me - if I can find one.

This is the Igloo Marine Ultra 25 I am retiring - 20.06” W by 11 .25” D x 13.13” H, $19.72 on Amazon and 20-something at Walmart - fits the available space but is lucky to have any ice left after 2 days:

The Ozark Trail 26-qt. [22" W x 14" D x 16" H] appears to be a far superior cooler:

I got both of them about two weeks ago. One for my ride and one for her ride.

Here's and idea of size difference, side by side.
