P0442 code Gen 2.5

today I got check engine while driving in heavy rain. took my car for free check engine at Autozone and it came out as p0442. not sure where to start, even though I read it might be gas cap , but I doubt it.

It's one of many things to consider. It's a steel line running along underneath your truck. You have several down there, fuel supply, fuel return, and a vacuum line for emissions. It might be hard to find but a quick visual on it could tell you the likelihood that you have a leak. If they look bad, you can perform a test with a handheld vac pump.
