Not sure where this should go but what kind of paper maps do you guys carry? Topographic and otherwise. Ive heard about the National Geographic maps being good but wanted some opinions

I use the US Geological Survey 7.5 minute series maps, the BLM 1:100,000 scale surface management status maps, the National Forest district maps (combined with the district's travel management map, when available), and DeLorme state Gazetteers.

It always seems that no individual map is perfect for a particular trip.

In my experience the BLM’s topo maps have proved to be some of the most accurate. As an easy quick reference I carry a Benchmark or DeLorme (depending on the state) in the seatback pocket.
