Permanent or removable?

Dstock, can you or anyone else help me with design pics and welding material specs for this rack. The local welder has never done anything like this before and is a bit confused. Need helpas far as channel, tubing, pull pins, etc. Should the rack be built the full length of the trailer? What about the annex and interference with the fenders? What size channel or tubing is strong enough, the tent weight about 120, just build legs on each corner of trailer? As you can see lots of questions from me as well, its all new to me! Thanks for everyone's input and information!

Sorry, I don't have any design pics other then what's in the thread. I just read a lot of the threads on other people's builds and then came up with what would work best for my application. I used square steel tubing for the rack and telescopic steel tubing for the uprights. I think the base uprights were 1 1/2" and then the inside pieces were 1 1/4" as was the rest of the rack, and I think I went with 11 gauge steel but would need to go back and find the invoices.

Rack size is user preference and would also depend on how big a tent you want to put on it. I centered my RTT over the axle. I also made the rack intentionally shorter in the front so I can still access the front of the bed without raising the rack.

On my trailer the fenders are flush with the side of the trailer, so no issues with the annex. I would suggest working from the ground up, if you are replacing axles, wheels and tires etc, start there so you have the right height for your rack.

Since no two of these trailers are alike, just scour the trailer threads and beg, borrow and steal whatever ideas you can when you see something you like and before you know it, you too will have an expo trailer!
