Looks like its got a bit of rust to contend with in the "normal spots." Are you going to try and repair the body?

Congrats on the new toy! I just swapped out my leafs and shocks with OME's, and its made a bit difference in ride quality. Not quite a Caddy, but a great ride nonetheless.

Because I am not trying to make an expensive restoration, I am only going to bondo, patch, or cover the major rust. I will likely just cover the rust holes on the rocker panel with diamond plate and clean up and bondo over the other rusty areas.

I will be spending more attention dealing with mechanical and comfort issues. First of all, the motor has to be dealt with. Fixed or replaced. Seats could use some TLC (tender loving care) or some seat covers. Going to add some thermo-acoustic insulation to help with interior comfort. Also will be adding some sort of headliner to deal with same issue. Going to add a couple 6x9 speakers and a CD player I have laying around. Going to add either a bench seat or a single bucket seat for my daughter's car seat. Which reminds me, I will also do the family rollcage for added protection.

etc etc

:D Famous first words of every person I met so far bringing home a classic that just needs some TLC :D May we remind you of these words in a couple months, when you have a rolling chassis in your driveway and Cruiser parts in different stages of restauration scattered all over your house??? :D I am sure it will take you 3x the money, 5x the time and 8x the frustration of what you are thinking right now, but at the end it will all be worth it. Congrats to your Cruiser!!
