The biggest weight comes from the axle, tires, wheels and brake drums. Those drums are massive and probably weigh 100# each. With the split rim, you may want to look for a set of 16" rims (to keep using the military tires). But I'd look for a different axle with parking brake (best thing for a trailer with weight) and matching set of wheels/tires with toter. You may not want to keep the military tires as they are tube. You can keep the stock springs as they are many and actually carry light weight rather good. Shocks are your option based on what you finally do with the trailer. The trailer frame is based on the M101 3/4 ton trailer frame.
