you can easily do a grill with one can. Two tops if you want a heavy coat. I did the grills on both my Tacoma and my Land Cruiser. I also did the flares, door handles and mirrors on the Cruiser. I prefer the plasti-dip over paint on grills especially since it's much more "flexible" it is less prone to chipping. When I used paint on my Tacoma grill the first time it got rock chipped badly in a matter of a few months. Using plasti-dip it stayed chip free and looking good for a couple years before needing any retouch.

My buddy plasti dipped his H1. Looks FANTASTIC! You can actually reuse it, too. He peeled it off, took the peelings and dissolved it in paint thinner. Pretty crazy!?
The silver paint was scratched up and looking pretty rough on my center section so I painted over it with Plasti dip. Did it about 4 years ago and it has held up great! Looks better than all that silver too.
The little spots are just some drink that splashed, not chips in the Plasti dip.
