Um mm! A soft couch, hot shower, BEER! It's the simple things in life we take for granted. Thank you jnich77, it's people like you that make this forum a pleasure.
To bobdog, I love Oregon and plan on coming back, but Hawaii has been my home base for 30+ years. I am truly blessed to have grown up in paradise. Surfing, sailing, scuba, pristine water and warm weather. Oregon holds as much beauty in a different way and there is much more to see and explore in this great country and beyond. The road dirt or paved will be my head shrink and maybe cheeper...lol.
Thanks fish for the complement, I have been working on a plan for that same subject. I have tested running a string under the door and it will close. I also noticed that if I pad the door with a rubber donut or stop I can bump the swing out enough to open. Stealth mode is a must in my travels. Again I am still working on it and if anyone has a plan, idea, or a functioning set up please share.
Over the last few days I have added a few other items. The first being gas shocks to the swing out to help open with ease but also to keep it in place on uneven ground or windy weather.
Drilled and tapped.
Perfect fit and works great!
I also mounted my CB antenna and bracket. I extended the tire support beam when building the swing out for this purpose.
The last thing was my solar shower. I wanted something contained on the truck for ease in case no trees were available. This first picture is the bracket for the pole. I mounted it to the front bumper so it would be clear of any obstructions. (Basically I couldn't find a good spot on the back bumper with the tire swing).
The pole is mounted under the lip of the camper and secured with brackets found at West Marine.
And this is the final picture. I tested it in my Friends drive way, I actually took a shower and the neighbors must have thought I was a nut.:snorkel:
To Every Miles A Memory, I am thinking of a travel website or blog, but I am still learning how to navigate a computer. I will do my homework and hopfully be able to start one. Thank you for the interest.
That's it for now.
