Sub'd for this. After renting a 16ft scamp from base morale I def am in the market for one of these fiberglass trailers. Keep up the good work. And with some new cushion coverings it would prolly look almost new

LOL, you don't care for the 80ies feel of the cushions? :hehe: Recovering the cushions is right now not a priority, but definitely on the list!
.
Found a bottle of fiberglass boat cleaner/restorer/wax magic lotion in a corner of my garage and tested what it could do for my Casita. Not sure if that was a good idea because as a result, I have now a dull camper with one beautifully shiny spot  It did not look that dull to me before until now that I see how she could look like ... I guess a work that will have to be continued :snorkel: but even though it is a small camper, there is a lot of surface

I had an old bug stored in my dad's garage, he was retired and bored so he polished the driver's door. When I sold it 15 years later that door still shined, the rest of the bug? not so much!

:Wow1: Very nice job, looks great, what's next? This seems like the way to go! I think I saw one of these on a pontoon boat! :snorkel:

Your doing a great job on this. Take your time, and do it the way you want it. Make it useable, camp a bit in it and see what you really need. I love these things. I anxious to hear how it works out for you.

Well thanks y'all for your kind words!

That's exactly the plan: to get it camp-worthy (the definition of "camp-worthy" has been changed and the bar lowered since I started with the this project ) take it out and then go on building based on what worked and what didn't.

Any idea what it weighs?

Just curious.

No I don't. I can lift the tongue and move her inside the garage, two of us cam push her pretty easily in and out of the garage. Without any water tanks, my guess would be in the 1,500 to 2,000 lbs range.

Great job inside!

Did you ever have had a look inside the hubs? :)

Checking the hubs is on my to do list before taking her on a shake-down trip. When I brought her home, I towed her roughly 100 miles, both hubs stayed cool. She had newish tires and I have some service history, I keep my fingers crossed that the hubs were redone too.
I will also have to look at the electric brakes regardless if I'm planning on hooking them up or not.

There is still a lot of work ...

Head down to Home Depot and get a couple day labors to come home with you.
Give them the polishing job.
One wax on, One buff off when they are done pay them then drive them back.

Ok, they don't go all that well with my fancy bed sheets, but it is easier finding a matching bed sheet than matching curtains.
.Also sorted out the tail lights this weekend. The blinker blink and the stop light shines, I'm a happy camper

I see one of these for sale near me. No idea about the condition. Always wondered if it was worth looking into. Still for sale.

Haven't kept up with this thread very well. Got my Casita pretty functional by now (minus the propane system) Here's just a quick pic from the side of the road from last weekend.
