Hi guys,
i decided not to continue on the Mini Hägglund but built this one instead. It`s loosely based on a vehicle made by Katrak:
I`m not a CAD guy, so here`s the first drawing:
I`m trying to keep this as small and lightweight as possible. Should end up pretty exactly as small as a Polaris.
Power will be belivered by a 3cyl 50hp Subaru engine. It`s from a Justy that was 4WD. Since i´m going to mount it lenghtwise and only using the left and right cv output to power the front and rear car the driveshaft flange for the former rear axle remains useless. I can engage power to it by vacuum. Anyone has any idea what to use this for? Otherwise i`m just going to remove it. I`m going to use the standart five speed. The engine and everything related will be on the rear car. Need to think of something to engage the shift levers. Clutch shouldn`t be a problem, i`ll just convert it to hydraulic engagement. Power to the rear car will go through a chain drive and two short shafts to the rear axle. Power ro the front car with a shaft that goes throught the articulated joint. I`m going to use Suzuki SJ 413 rear axles that will be shortend to get the diff in the middle and accept two short shafts.
Suspension will consist of boogie axles using 4.00/8 tires. The boogie axles will be mounted on the drive axle tubes by some sort of bushing, need some ideas on that.
Will have articulated steering by two hydraulic rams and an engine driven hydraulic pump.
Here are the tracks i`m going to use:
Steering rams:
And the engine and transmission:
At the moment i`m collecting ideas and trying to draw some stuff this time before i build it and notice something doesn`t work out...
