Does not really matter, so long as you are avoiding paralleled strings as much as possible.
If cells are lower Ah capacity than your overall bank, then group your cells in parallel first at the 1S level, then put those groups in series for a single string.
For a mission critical use case maybe go to two strings for easier redundancy, but more than that not a great idea, unbalanced flows uneven wear shorter lifespan.
