Question for FJ owners

I basically sold my FJ loaded with all the mods and bought on 08 4runner with the V8. Reason I sold it is we've got a 5 month old baby now, plus two 80lbs dogs. I didn't think the FJ would be an issue, but the dogs got the short end of the stick when we put the stroller back there. Also the suicide doors were a hassle if my wife was back there with the baby. Now with the additional cargo room and 4 real doors, life is much easier. As far as the cave like feel of the FJ and the blindspots, you get used to it. Once you get into another car with 4 doors though, it's like daylight. The V8 is definately a plus, the thing hauls. Cool thing is, I get to start the build over.

Height is not an issue, being only 5'6". As far as the clamshell doors, the wife drives an Element - while it's not an FJ I imagine the interior has a very similar function/feel. We currently have no kids, unless you count the dogs (which we do) and we don't play taxi too often.

I spoke with my brother and the 4Runner is a limited, leather, heated seats, etc. a bit too many extras for my liking. I very much like the KISS approach and am all about function over form. Heck, I'm just going to be happy to have electric door locks and windows again – Although I say that now. . .

I know that in my mind I have pretty much made my decision - now it's just a matter of signing my life away.
