Last week in Oregon! Some shots of the beach, the critters, the critter mom, some planes at the Tillamook Air Museum (I want a camperized Catalina with surfboard racks!), the F350 I hope to be driving very soon, and last but so not least, TACO-RAMA!!! I could eat my weight in the pastor tacos these guys make!

I kept looking for ya Spencinator, but no dice... We managed to get great weather too!

Redtheis- looks like you had a great time! The closest I would've been was on Sunday, I was in tillamook forest which is where those pictures are from.

We drove out the 26 to the 6, on the 4th, then hung out around Twin Rocks/Rockaway until wednesday the 7th. Then up through Astoria and over to the 5 and home to the frozen wastelands! I hope to be back down to PDX soon to pick up the big Ford.

Nice! I was just looking up how far you are away from Portland and the drive isn't too bad! We might have to make a trip up there and do some exploring. Is that the ford your going to put the 12v into?

That is the plan. We will have to see how the money flows this year. I will start collecting parts over the summer, and maybe do the swap in the fall. One of the guys I work with is a Ford factory diesel tech and he is willing to get involved. That will be a big help I'm sure.

The drive from PDX to Whistler is around 8 hrs if you drive 65 ish. It's not too bad at all. When we drive down to California or Mexico we sometimes go as far as Florence (if we are doing the coastal route). That makes for a full day. There is lots to see up here, but lots in your area too.

I assume you noticed the Boxer in my pack. Josey is 11. I got her off the street in Mex. the mini Dachshund is 3 (Lola), and the newest is Dexter the Weimaraner who we got in Darrington Wa. With one mexi, one yankee, and one canuck dog, we have a NAFTA meeting every day!

I thought I saw a Boxer butt in one of those pictures!! Our Molly is a boxer mix that we rescued when she was 3. We've had her two years now and she's our little girl. Spoiled like crazy but they deserve it!

We are either on the coast or out east. I love eastern Oregon. We have a lot of trips planned this year including Colorado, eastern Oregon, Leavenworth for the rally, and Texas for this years F1 race! Woohoo!! (I use to be a Ferrari/Maserati technician) We will have to make time for a trip up north towards your area. I hear it's beautiful up there!

WRC rally in Leavenworth? I'm in! Or NRA rally:0! I am a huge F1 fan too, but I had a hard time backing Schumacher. I have had two Ducati bikes (both "arrest me red" of course), but that is as close as I get to Ferrari... So far!

Shopping for a 92-97 F350 crew to stuff a 12v Cummins into!

Since we are already way off topic…

I’ll say COMO SAY What? Never noticed this part of your signature before. Nothing like wanting to shove a diamond up goat’s ********, eh. Just get a Cummins in a Dodge wrapper and walk away with a better end product my friend.

Dodge... Been there. Owned four different versions. None of them (1st or 2nd gen), will legally carry 3500lbs without duals, which I won't drive. None of them have four (real) doors until 2003, which is still a $15,000 truck. Unit bearings. Track bars. Other over priced parts.
I know you guys are both Chevy guys, which means you have to sign the official "I hate Fords" registry, but I am not a brand loyalist. I believe that all three of the domestics make certain vehicles that are the top of their "class". Need a full size suv that is robust, easy to fix, etc? Suburban or Blazer. Need a solid axle one ton crew that is newer than the 80s, but not $10,000+? F350.
Want the best diesel engine available in a full size? Get a Cummins, but then see above for my needs.
Dana 60, ZF5, four doors, payload, comfortable, inexpensive parts, and I like em. It is a super easy swap to put a 12v into the 350, so that is the best of all worlds. For me.

Dig the Suburban LIVEanimals! Interesting forum name. Curious about the story behind that

Thanks Larry, the story behind the name, haha I don't know where I got them but I had a couple stickers lying around that said LIVE ANIMALS, just kinda stuck since the first forum I joined.

Amen! A Ford F350 4x4 with a 12-Valve Cummins is unmatched on any level. I've had 3 Dodge 12-Valves (One 1st Gen, Two 2nd Gens), Two F250's ('83, and '96), and 4 Chevrolet's ('85, '93, '93, '94). The Dodges were great but really only because of the engine. I do miss my '97 Dually the most as it was a solid truck that neer gave me any issues. The Chevy's were all falling apart around me. Everytime a repair is done, something else breaks. The Suburban I have now is nice, but it's not really my style. The Fords, well I still have the '83, and the '96 was only sold because the TTB+Leaf combo rode like a radio flyer and the Powerstroke doesn't hold a candle to a 6BT Cummins, but the trucks themselves were built the best.

One day when I can find the right F350 Reg Cab 4x4 with a 351w or 460, I'll swap the '83 F250 sheetmetal over and drive it until the motor takes a dirt nap, then a Cummins will go in it's place, possibly backed by an Allison transmission.

Redthies, there's tons of 4-door F350's for sale down here in Texas real cheap. Found a '97 Crew Cab 4x4 Powerstroke with no engine for $1000 the other day. Thought about buying it, but I'm holding out for a regular cab to save myself some work of cutting up a Crew/Super cab.

That sounds like a near perfect truck. I bought a real nice 02 f-350 short bed super cab 7.3 about a year and a half ago, its been good so far but it still burns me that ford would go to unit bearings. I don't get the love affair with dodges, the 3rd gen. seems good( I drive an 05 quad cab hemi for work) but the first gen ride like a buck board and the interior looks and feels like a mid 70's POS dodge car.

Thanks for the support Ford-Cummins guys! Sub-urban... Make sure you get the 460 if you want to do a Cummins conversion, unless you do go Allison. There are a few companies making adapters for 6BT to ZF5 swaps. My main issue for not having bought a 350 yet is I gotta get rid of my 99 Dodge 1500 first.
