any more pics of that bumper?

It's a Greg Davis bumper. Lois posted quite a few pics of his in his build thread. Let me know if you need more though.

Craig, looks really nice. Is that the standard DII kit from TruckVault, or did you order some modifications (like around the wheel wells)?

Yeah, it's custom. I live about 15 minutes from them so it made it easy.

Had the new cargo drawers installed today and installed a worklamp w/ a 1w LED bulb last week. The low wattage LED bulb lets me run the worklamp as long as I want w/o even stopping to consider if it is going to kill the battery.

Roller drawers, very stout locks, bolted from the inside to the rear jumpseat attachment points on the floor, and from D-rings on the outside of the drawer to the 2nd row seat attachment points on the floor. The drawer occupies the space between the two wheel wells. The remainder is covered with plywood wings and carpeted over. These wings can be lifted and stuff can be stored in them, and gear can be placed on top of them.

On the left side, I removed my cubby and the air tank/compressor now sits under the drawer wing. I'll replumb the air hookup to be available w/o lifting the wing and I'll create an air vent of some sort so the compressor doesn't over heat. The right side will be used to store something that is infrequently used or only used in camp like the showerhead.

The fridge slide will be installed into glued in t-nuts using knob screws so the whole thing can be easily removed. I'll put tie-downs elsewhere to hold the pelican(s) and other gear down as well as secure the elastic net that I usually put across the top to hold lightweight stuff.

Dog guard will go in next week.

The tent opens over the area for shade and protection from rain. It also has a "changing room" that can be used to provide additional protection if necessary.

Wow, Craig that looks very clean and well thought out!

Finished installing the African Outback drawers last weekend. It went easier than I thought. Turned out really nice. Now I just need to organize my gear.

Next up, installing a drop down table to the back door since the sub woofer and pocket had to come out to accommodate the drawers.

Looking good everyone!!!

Craig/Joshua-Does the rear end now sag with more weight in the back?

With a 3.5" HD Rovertym lift (3" lift + D1 spring perches on a D2 = 3.5") the truck rides better with weight in it, than empty. With the drawers added to my normal trail load I have no issues with tire clearance, the truck rides great, and I have no issues with stopping.

I went for a hike today with my family and discovered the other joy of these drawers. They are marketed as a secure place to store stuff. When we went for our hike I was able to toss all the cameras, purses, cell phones, etc that we wouldn't be carrying into them and lock them up. It was liberating being able to go for a hike with out worrying about the stuff in the truck getting stolen.

I didn't notice much sag. Here's what it looks like afterwards.

I'm running with an OME heavy duty setup. I agree with Craig, it actually rides better with some weight on it.

I'll be adding the roof rack and tent in the next few days, so we'll see how much it sags then.

I finally finished the whole cargo area setup. Drawers, table, LED worklamp, fridge slide, and pelican tie-downs. I've also had a chance to test it all. So, here are the final pictures as promised of the stuff that I didn't post before.

On a four day trip, the setup worked great. Cooking gear is in the left drawer and is accessible when the table is folded down.

The fridge is mounted to an Engel Fridge Slide which is secured to the drawers with thumbscrews. The thumbscrews screw into T-nuts that are permanately affixed to the cargo drawers. This makes removing or installing the fridge a 5 minute job.

The Pelican is strapped to a removable tie-down. Again, the pelican can be removed or installed in just a few minutes. I leave the straps attached to the tie-downs even when it isn't in the truck. The straps go through the handles rather than over the top so that it can be opened inside the truck without having to loosen anything. We keep dry goods in it on family trips. Lunch is as easy as folding down the rear shelf, opening the pelican, and getting the fixings out of the fridge.

Our propane stove wouldn't fit on the shelf, but we'd been planning to switch to a Coleman white gas stove for a while anyway (I use a Jetboil or an MSR XGKII on a cookie sheet when alone). The white gas works better in the cold that we get when camping in the mountains of Washington State. Here my wife is cleaning up after a meal. She loves the setup.

On the left side under the wing is the onboard air. It is comprised of a 2.5 gallon Viair tank, a Masterflow MV-50 (or MF-1050) compressor, and a bunch of plumbing (drain cock through the floor, safety valve, T for locker, etc).

The air connection is threaded into the seatbelt bracket for the 3rd row seating making it very secure.

The pressure gauge and compressor main switch panel. The other switch is for the worklamp (posted earlier in the thread). The air hose is stored in a drawer so it is easy to retrieve when gear is piled on top of the wing lid.

Power for the compressor and rear worklamp are run through a marine fuse block. I still need to replace the rear interior panel that was carved up when I had the air installed behind the cubby (so it was hidden).
