Red Rocks Rendevous

Now let me just preface this by saying I'm normally not into festivals, music, art or even climbing festivals, so I went into this past weekend with a bit of trepidation. The following are some pics of my two days that ended up being awesome...

Thanks for the kind words fellas...

The Rendevous itself was a great experience, the people at mountaingear.com put on a great event. There were climbing clinics all weekend long with a little something for everyone, children's classes, beginner to advanced climbing clinics, good food and drink. Not much more you can ask for.

Yeah, it was my first time Red Rock Canyon and was pleasantly surprised. The actual park itself is, as most parks, is crowded and highly regulated, although the park is only on the Eastern flanks of the mountain range.

Awsome Sinuhe, I have yet to go to Red Rock. There are a few climbs I have had my eye on, Epinephrine and Levitation 29. Both are classic multi pitch climbs. Lets get together this Summer and do some climbing. I have been itching for a few years now to put up some multi pitch moderate routes in the White Mountains. Lets do it.

One thing I did see there that was the pinnacle of lame was this guy in a white convertible Corvette, I honestly hope he was borrowing it from his sister, drove over a climbing pack and brand new rope. Actually he didn't drive over it he managed to get himself high centered.

You can see a nice new The North Face ($300) pack under there, you can't see the brand new Blue Water ($200) rope that got mangled...

Now driving over your own gear after a night of boozing sponsored by New Belgium Brewing is a little idiotic in and of itself.

The crap part of this story is that after 5 guys helped get him unstuck. He doesn't get out of his car and starts to take off. The good sams stop him and say, "Hey you're forgetting your gear!"

This LOSER replies, "Oh? It's not mine!" and drives off.

Just about then the owner comes walking up asking ****** just happened. Her pack was torn, lunch destroyed, water and energy drinks spilled all over.

Not to brand bash, but don't trust anyone in a white convertible Corvette that is male.

Check out publicdata.com. Run his plates and get the $500 for him. Have the creep throw in another $10 for lunch, too.
